Question:

I just ordered me a Wrist band :) I got the 8" size one… I hope it fits lol. Umm any idea when I’ll be getting my wrist band? I’m thinkin it will take at least 2 weeks or so.

I got mine in about 10 days, but I’m in Canada so they had to come across the border and would have taken longer. Yours may not take that long. Dana

Ok thanks for the info :) I’m going to buy one! :D

Response:

How big/small is a 7" wrist band? I want to buy a wristband! :)

Well, let me put it this way. I have *tiny* wrists, and the child’s size is nice and loose on me. (Let me put on one of the adult ones.) ok, the adult one is really big on me. Now I just have to figure out which one is which. When I measure the adult one flat it’s more than 3.5 inches, which makes me think the child’s size is the 7 inch one. They stretch when you put them on like a great big rubber band, (what they are, basically) then snap back into the original shape and size. The child size is perfect on me, and I have very small hands and wrists. Dana

Fighting Migraine Disease: A New Awareness Initiative in Memoriam Today marks the launch of a new Web site and Migraine disease awareness wristbands. The purple wristbands are debossed with the slogan, "FIGHTING MIGRAINE DISEASE." The idea for this awareness initiative came from the Yahoo! discussion group Migraine after members read about a Migraineur who committed suicide after a horrendous ER visit. You may remember the article about that incident… Article about the wristband project: http://headaches.about.com/od/advocacyissues/a/fmd_wristband.htm Site to order awareness wristbands: www.fightingmigrainedisease.com hugs, Teri | Whats this???  I missed this Teri please repost info I would like to donate | and get | one.. | | Ronnie |

Painfull arm tattooing

Question:

At the tattoo studio earlier on a few of us got into a discussion about the pain of tattoo’s on the arm. Aside from the shoulder section and hand, what do people find the most painful area to be tattooed on the arm.Personally I believed the tricep was the worst, espc. near the elbow. Other responses ranged were inside wrist, upper tricep and inner bicep. General thoughts on this are appreciated espc. from anyone who has had all aforementioned areas chopped. Preacher

side of the wrist closest to the body: right where the tendon that runs up to the thumb is there seems to be a ball of nerves. I experienced sharp pains there. flat inside/underside of wrist: I felt burning tearing pain. Crook of elbow: Where they usually draw blood at the doctors office. More of the burning/tearing pain. Worst of the worst: Areas around the point of the elbow known as "crazy bone" or "funny bone". Shot sharp pain up my arm and even into my shoulder and neck at times. Big ow. Felt the normal/bearable tingle-burn everywhere else on my arms. But, all that said, I am just a big silly girlie girl. :b —Angie a.k.a. destrss "We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be." –Kurt Vonnegut

Having just done the final part of my upper-arm tattoo (my first), I found the upper triceps to be the worst. The tattooing itself wasn’t the worst, but the constant wiping made my skin really sore… Now I just have to endure the burning/stinging sensation when i shower it with very hot water… It’s definately worth it in the end… Snorre

Frenum Update

Question:

Well it’s been about 72 hrs now and all I’m doing is grinning and smiling, at home at work, very UNcharacteristic of me.  People want to know what’s wrong. Haven’t told them yet, want them to wonder!   I know better, I just feel great! I seem to have already developed the "crusties" which seems very fast.  I can only compare against my nip piercing and they took several days for development.  Even the bruising seems to be going away.  Now, I want to add to it.  Going to have my right arm tattoo finished on Fri.  Can’t wait. Will this ever end?  NAH! Paul Looking to an ever expanding horizon.

A frenum is a male genital piercing on the underside of the penis along the shaft. And yes, in general, when we speak of crusties, we are speaking of piercing crusties. To answer all your questions, though, I suggest you: 1. Lurk for a while 2. Read the FAQs (http://www.eskimo.com/~rab/faqpage.html 3. Check out BME (http://BME.FreeQ.com/) I also suggest you include a real email address where we can reach you — I cannot mail this reponse since the address in the header is not valid. Well, it’s a male genital piercing(s) on the underside of the shaft of the penis.  I had 3 put in and will expand to, I donno, maybe 6 fi there’s room. I believe there is.  Crusties, as far as I’m aware (please correct me if I’m wrong) refer to piercings.  Tatto’s tend to get scabs or even a better description flaky dead skin that falls off. Selfmade Tattoo's

Question:

Ccan anyone tell me how or got a faq on what you need and Ttips on giving yourself Tattoo’s

Nothing personal Robert, but spend the money on a tattoo artist.  You won’t be dissapointed if you shop around for a good one.  My friend Clumpy (don’t ask) has some self-done tats, and he’s regretted them every day of his life (aside from the health risks involved – Hep?). Good luck, bud, if you choose to do one yourself.  you’re a braver man than I. Well, first of all, the tattoos don’t possess anything. P.S. Sorry to be bitchy, but I HATE it when people do that! There is a shop in my town called "****s Tattoo’s" and he advertises his bad spelling religiously. I’m not sure if I would ever let someone who can’t get basic spelling down tattoo ME. -8eggs

I’m sure you saw the poor guy who got the little Notre Dame mascot tattooed on his arm and wanted to have "Fightin’ Irish" tattooed around it.  His tattooist misspelled "Fightin’," spelling it thus: "Figtin’" I believe. I also have a big pet peeve with people who are supposed to be able to speak English as a FIRST language, but seem unable to do so, regardless.   However, I never post about such things anymore since the response I most often read is "I didn’t know I had to be an English major to participate in this newsgroup – mailing list – etc." Slainte, Bracken — Shall I use the fire God gave me to burn incense all day long?                           No thank you!                                                     Jose’ Ferrer

The guy I apprenticed under actually wrote "Hell’s Angles" on some guy in the 70’s. Also have a friend with "Straght Edge" on his arm. whee. Maybe it’s the tattoo gods telling people it was a dumb idea to begin with. :^) 8eggs

No need to apologize to me.  I share the same pet peeve with you.  That Hell’s Angles thing made me LOL!  Maybe he was a biker who also happened to teach geometry.  Not very likely, though. Tattoo pain

Question:

Well, now I know the process, but the question is… how bad does it hurt?  Someone said it hurts pretty bad and the area is swollen for a day or two after the tattoo is done.  Any feedback on this would be nice.  Thanks. (BTW, found a place here in Bloomington.  "Intricate Ink".  Nice place, very clean, uses machines… autoclave, etc.) —

I got my first tatoo over 23 years ago…and it still hurts……. But that didn’t stop me from getting sixteen more.. Don’t be a big pussy…if ya want one bad enough..pain isn’t (or shouldn’t be) in the equation. —

It’s never hurt bad enough to make me stop. And this includes genital tattooing and piercing as well as arm tattoo, nipple pierces and a septum pierce. If you want it badly enough, the pain will be no real problem. —

Well traveled,too.. 17 tats over a period of 23 years has averaged out to less than 50 buck a year if ya want to get technical about it…pretty cheap entertainment if ya ax me. —
